About VEX Robotics
VEX Robotics is a platform that inspires students like us to become the problem-solvers of tomorrow by adding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education into our lives. It also provides us with opportunities that would not otherwise have been available (e.i. a robotics experience, the engineering and teamwork skills associated with these events, and the international experience of the World Championships). We enjoy VEX Robotics and believe it to be an important part of our lives as well as the future of engineering.
In the VEX Robotics Competition, teams worldwide compete in local tournaments to qualify for the World Championships. They design, build, and program one robot each to play a robotics game, which changes each year (but usually played on a 12'-12' field with 4 teams, paired into a red alliance and a blue alliance, in matches which are 2 minutes long). If a team is on the winning alliance of the state tournament, or is given the Excellence Award for being the overall best team, they qualify for the VEX World Championships and can compete with teams from many other nations in a huge tournament.
VEX Robotics has its own website, to which a link can be found here:
